Exhibiting an All-time High

146,419 visitors from more than 200 countries and regions (an increase of 37 per cent on 2017 attendance figures), were treated to the latest innovations in the furniture and soft furnishings sector by 1,300 exhibitors and dozens of expert speakers CIFF Shanghai 2018 (an FM Industry partner event).

 


The event at Hongqiao NECC was organised jointly by China Foreign Trade Guangzhou Exhibition General Corporation (CFTE) and Red Star Macalline.

 

Organised under the theme, “an Example of Global Home Life”, the four-day exhibition highlighted the extent to which product design, customised furnishings solutions, and intelligent production processes add value to business competitiveness.

 

CIFF Shanghai 2018 also highlighted the continuing transformation of the “Made in China” label into an exciting, design-led badge-of-honour that graced products from more than 90 high-level Chinese brands debuting at the event for the first time.

 

Exhibitor categories were refined further in 2018, to include Home Furniture, Home décor & Hometextile, Outdoor & Leisure, The Office Show and Furniture Machinery & Raw Materials, allowed visitors to optimise their time at the fair, and fully enjoy the services available in the surrounding district, which has unquestionable enriched and enhanced.

 

A series of key events, seminars, competitions and innovative initiatives, including East Design Show, Design Dream Show, China Design Forum, the Pinnacle Awards Asia Pacific, China Interiors & Decoration Conference, Office Life Theme Pavilion, and Milan-Shanghai Creative Twin City, highlighted new business opportunities for the global furniture industry.


EAST Design Show

Now in its fourth year, the EAST Design Show which features exhibits from Asian designers, captured the spirit of Asian craftsmanship, rediscovered in all its power, and showcased marvellously handmade objects with design details that make a difference to the symphony of shapes and materials,


Pinnacle Awards Asia-Pacific

CIFF Shanghai 2018 also hosted the awards ceremony and exhibition of the second edition of the Pinnacle Awards Asia-Pacific, which were co-promoted by CIFF, the American Society of Furniture Designers (ASFD), and High Point Market.

 

Award winners in 16 different categories were selected on the basis of the ease with which their designs will be accepted and distributed in international markets (and the United States in particular).


The 42nd edition of CIFF Shanghai celebrated the culmination of twenty years spent in creating a global business platform for the furniture industry.
