Creativevents to Cater at The Biggest Weekend

Catering, Contract Awards, EMEA
Mitie's specialist outdoor catering business, Creativevents, has been contracted to provide bar and food services during the "Biggest Weekend" - a one-off festival to be hosted by BBC Music and broadcast overTV, radio, and online.

Four festivals will take place at four sites over the four days of the late May Bank Holiday weekend (25-28 May). The Biggest Weekend will see BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio 6 Music stations bring live music to crowds of over 175,000.

Belfast, Coventry, Perth and Swansea will play host to stars such as Florence and the Machine, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Craig David, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and Manic Street Preachers; with more acts still to be announced.

Creativevents delivered bar and food services at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend in Hull in 2017. Following a competitive tender process, this relationship has expanded and Creativevents will be the single supplier at all four festival sites this summer.

Commenting on the contract, Creativevents director Stephen McDade, said:

"We are thrilled to have won the contract for this summer’s biggest musical event. We are expanding our relationship with the BBC after a successful Big Weekend in Hull last year, to deliver bar and hospitality services for thousands of festival-goers across the UK."
