Dubai South-The Big 5 Construction Industry Seminar

Company News, Events, EMEA
Dubai South, the 145 sq. km urban city development emerging in the Northern Emirates, and dmg events will host a “How to do Business in the UAE” seminar for visitors to this year's The Big 5 event at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) on 28 November.

The seminar will provide international companies with information on navigating the complex regulatory framework to set up a business and win work in the UAE’s booming construction market. It will also share key insights into laws and effective business practices even for established businesses within the UAE.

Josine Heijmans, Portfolio Director of The Big 5, says:

“Over the past four decades, The Big 5 has been a prime gateway for international firms into the United Arab Emirates’ burgeoning construction market.

“We are extremely glad to continue supporting the development of the construction industry while facilitating business and trade in the UAE. The free seminar in partnership with Dubai South will provide terrific value and business intelligence to companies participating at The Big 5 this year.”

Shoaib Alrahimi, VP Business Park, says:

“Dubai South Business Park is honored to be part of The Big 5 show, hosting the “How to Do Business in the UAE” Seminar to offer valuable information for participants and educate them about how to set up their business in the UAE and what Dubai South can offer as best investment opportunities”.

Launched in 2006, Dubai South is a self-sustaining development that integrates global trade, business, and logistics within a smart Free Zone environment. Projected to host a population of approximately one million, Dubai South is expected to create 500,000 jobs.

Dubai South’s Business Park offers versatile office spaces suited to almost every organization – from start-ups to SMEs and multinationals. From ready-to-move-in, high quality finished offices to open plan office space, it ensures that companies can relocate quickly and focus single-mindedly on expanding their operations. Beyond the Al Maktoum International Airport - which will become the world’s largest airport once completed – Dubai South also hosts key events such as Expo 2020 and the Dubai Airshow.

Alrahimi adds:

“Dubai South is fast becoming a leading global hub for trade, aviation, logistics and commerce. It is an unrivalled gateway to the Middle East, Africa and South Asia – the fastest growing markets in the world.”

According to a recent report, the UAE accounts for half of all construction activity in the Gulf region. The country is currently home to more than 11,800 active projects with a total value of almost US$800 billion.

Over 2,500 exhibitors from around the globe will participate at The Big 5 this year for four days of business, networking and learning opportunities. Expected to welcome over 60,000 visitors from the GCC region and beyond, the event will feature a rich education agenda with high-level summits and practical workshops.

The theme for the 2018 edition of the event is: “Shaping the future of construction”, and a new Innovation zone will showcase the newest and most innovative products available, with a Start-up City seminar considering the next construction tech disruptors.
