New IBC Cleaning Solution

Cleaning & Waste Management, Industrial, Supplier News

The Spray Nozzle People (SNP) have launched a solution for in-house cleaning of Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs).

Cleaning IBCs is often a time-consuming and costly process and can produce varied results depending on whether or not a professional grade cleaning line or system is in place.

Outsourcing cleaning to specialist third-party cleaning service providers is also often expensive and may require transport costs, lengthy paperwork and minimum order quantities.

SNP’s new solution comprises the following components which can be bought together or separately:

  • Tank Cleaning Lance with a 1” hose tail inlet and 1” Bsp male outlet, in 316 stainless steel
  • Lid to suit 6” thread c/w 2” centre thread with plug, in polypropylene
  • Lid to suit 9” thread c/w 2” centre thread with plug, in polypropylene
  • Orbitor Eco tank cleaning head

Once connected to a suitable hose and water supply, the lance can be used with a variety of different SNP cleaning heads. However, for optimal results, the Orbitor Eco is recommended. Run at 9 bar pressure, it has a cycle time of just 3 minutes, delivering a flow rate of 85 litres a minute.  It comes in 316 stainless steel, making it suitable for even the most hygienic food applications.

UK Sales Engineer and Tank Wash Expert Luke Borton, comments: "These components provide a solution to a need many of our customers have for quick, efficient, in-house IBC cleaning.

"The advantage of using the Orbitor Eco with the lance is that it is the fastest cycle cleaner available, vastly reducing water usage. It is also self cleaning and is very quick and easy to maintain, making this system extremely cost effective."

About IBCs

Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) are reusable, industrial-strength containers which are used to transport a huge variety of goods and materials such as chemicals and foodstuffs. They consist of a plastic container made of high density polypropylene (HDPE) and a rigid metal frame. They come in a number of sizes but the most common is the 1,000 litre IBC which is 45x45 inches.
