Relocating to a Glorious Past

Real Estate, Service Provider News, Financial & Professional Services, United Kingdom

A specialist recruitment consultancy offering a range of construction, engineering and property roles is relocating to a former mill in the creative heart of Leeds in Northern England.

MCG Construction has taken a three-year lease at Marshall’s Mill, moving into 618 sq. ft. of office space on the first floor within the Grade II listed building, situated on the South Bank of Leeds.

The Mill, originally built by industrialist and MP John Marshall, is based at the heart of a dynamic and creative community. The area is home to restored historic mill spaces, flexible, contemporary interiors and a digital infrastructure that offers creative office space, living spaces, bars & eateries. It is home to a range of digital and creative businesses such as Welcome to Yorkshire, Flashtalking, Bolser and Limehouse Films.

Part of The MCG Group, MCG Construction is a specialist construction consultancy business, providing recruitment solutions and construction logistics to an amplitude of companies and projects in the UK. The location of the Mill is perfect for the construction specialists, located in the centre of several landmark construction projects in Leeds as the city continues to expand. This includes one of the most extensive regeneration and growth initiatives in the country, The South Bank. In addition, having visited many events at Marshall’s Mill previously, the Northern Regional Manager has returned for the fun, vibrant atmosphere he’d once enjoyed.

Dan Ruscoe, Regional Manager at MCG Construction, says: "We had been looking to move from our previous offices for a while until I recommended Marshall’s Mill to the team. The estate’s location is perfect with the surrounding expansions continuous around the city centre. I also have many fond memories from visiting the mill’s events in the past, and all I could remember was the sense of community and fantastic events. Whether it was for networking or leisure, there was always something happening at the Mill, which is great for our employees who enjoy mingling and meeting new people. The selection of bars and eateries on site also won us over with their selections of award-winning menus and Yorkshire brewed ales.

"We got in contact and found their onsite team really helpful, the offices well appointed and the charges reasonable. The transition has been well supported by the Marshall Mills’ team and, having settled in for over a month now; we can definitely recommend it to other companies looking for office space.”

Paul Taylor of Creative Space Management, adds: "With the past few months being very turbulent and difficult for many businesses across all sectors, it’s great to see that some businesses have been able to continue and expand. We are grateful that MCG Construction has chosen Marshall’s Mill’s friendly, fun yet professional community and look forward to supporting them as they continue to grow in Leeds."

The lettings were facilitated by Creative Space Management who acted as joint agents with Knight Frank.
