Manchester Metropolitan University Security Contract

Contract Awards

Facilities Management Specialist Oltec fm is delighted to announce the award of a contract to provide all outsourced security and manned guarding support to the in-house security team at Manchester Metropolitan University. The new contract expands Oltec's existing relationship by establishing it as the 'total' supplier of support services to the in-house team for all security duties (including patrols, CCTV monitoring, library security, residential security and special events).

Manchester Metropolitan University is the  United Kingdom's largest campus-based university for undergraduate students and has been disseminating knowledge and making higher education accessible since 1824. The Manchester campus is situated close to the city centre, with a second campus located in Cheshire. The University is arranged into eight faculties, with each providing specialist learning, teaching and research hubs for students at undergraduate, postgraduate and professional development level.

John Edwards, Facilities Management Director at Oltec fm, commented:

“This is an exciting opportunity for Oltec fm to further develop its role as a key service partner to this flagship customer and the contract award adds to the number of other educational developments within our portfolio. We are incredibly proud to have been working collaboratively with Manchester Metropolitan University since 2015 to support the in-house security operation and deliver tailored security solutions across its various sites. The new contract allows us to enhance our security service and develop our onsite team at the university enabling them to work smarter, offering a more efficient and effective service to Manchester Metropolitan University.”

Alan Cain, Head of Security and Business Continuity at Manchester Metropolitan University, said:

“Oltec fm put considerable effort into researching our security requirements here at Manchester Metropolitan University, and this was clearly reflected in the quality of their tender submission. They have worked alongside the University’s in-house security team since 2015 in support of both campus security and special events. The new contract expands on this to include support for our in-house teams involved in library and residential security. Both the management and security officers of Oltec fm have shown a ‘can-do’ attitude to all that has been asked of them by the University, and I’m very much looking forward to working with them over the coming years.”
