Axis Academy Appoints Senior L&D Team
The Axis Academy has confirmed the appointment of its senior team following the launch of the new learning and development business.
Duaine Taylor is the new Head of Learning and Development, and Peter Morris has been appointed as The Axis Academy’s Lead Trainer. Both come with a wealth of training and industry-related experience.
The Axis Academy has been set up to improve the skills and professionalism of all those employed by Axis Group companies and to drive up professional standards.
Duaine, who was previously the Training Manager for Axis Cleaning and Support Services, is now responsible for the learning and development of employees across the entire Axis Group, reporting to Naomi Austen, Group HR & Learning Director. Responsible for the day-to-day management of the business, he is also tasked with establishing new training regimes, working with expert trainers to devise bespoke courses which answer the needs of employees and clients. He started his career in the military before a career in teaching and lecturing.
Peter Morris, who was until recently an Assistant Account Manager with Axis Security, becomes the company’s Lead Trainer. A former Metropolitan Police detective who joined the private security industry in 1999, Peter has a strong operational background and understanding of the challenges employees face on a day to day basis, as well as the typical expectations of the client. Peter holds several teaching qualifications and a Masters degree in Security Management.
Jonathan Levine, Group Chief Executive, welcomes the new team’s experience: “This is an exciting time for the business as we look to support our employees and their future career ambitions. Investing in our people is key to driving positive change and the raising of professional standards across the cleaning, security and support services sectors.”
