Company News

Aramark (NYSE: ARMK), a global leader in food, facilities management and uniforms, has been named one of the Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion by the 2017 Disability Equality Index® (DEI), with a top-score of 100%.

This announcement was made at the 2017 US Business Leadership Network® (USBLN) 20th Annual National Conference Leadership Awards dinner held on August 23.

The Disability Equality Index® is an annual benchmarking tool, first introduced in 2012, to help companies build a positive reputation while identifying opportunities for continued improvement. Companies that receive this distinction through the DEI® excel in four areas of criteria: culture & leadership, enterprise-wide access, employment practices, and community engagement & support services.

All areas of criteria are measured on a self-report that give businesses a chance to receive an objective score on a scale of zero (0) to 100 on their disability inclusion policies and practices.

“We are proud to be a top-scoring company for the Disability Equality Index® and we constantly push to make our workplace as inclusive and diverse as possible,” said Lynn B. McKee, Executive Vice President of Human Resources for Aramark. “Our goal is to create a workplace culture that values and leverages our many differences, and drives innovation through inclusion among our 270,000 team members across the globe.”

DEI® is a joint initiative of the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) and US Business Leadership Network®(USBLN) and is designed to bring awareness to disabilities inclusion policies and practices within corporate America, leading to better employment outcomes for people with disabilities as employees, customers and suppliers.
