GE Healthcare is using robotic vacuum cleaners in a cleaning programme created by TemcoUK Facility Services for its offices in Amersham and Little Chalfont.

The robots named “Abbee” now participate in daily vacuuming operations at the UK offices of the global medical imaging, monitoring, bio-manufacturing, and cell and gene therapy technologies company, thereby facilitating re-deployment of cleaning operatives in other tasks.

Commenting, a GE Healthcare spokesperson, said:

“We are always looking for innovation in all parts of our business from all our stakeholders. The introduction of the Abbee robots is just one example of this and we’re impressed with Temco for bringing innovation into the services they provide us”.

The robots are supplied by The Perfect Little Company, an Oxfordshire-based business which has developed a system for managing multiple robots in a single building. The solution is now emplyed at multiple sites managed by Temco’s corporate clients.

Andrew Philpot, Temco managing director, says:

“We’ve been using the Abbee robots from TPLC for almost a year now in various customer buildings and they are proving a great success.  Not only does it release time for our staff but in addition it has improved standards in cleanliness.”
