Facilitating Access to Headway East London

Delta Security has installed a secure automatic door solution at the offices of brain injury charity, Headway East London.

Based on Kingsland Road in Shoreditch which was the location for the fatal stabbing of a 26-year-old man in November 2018, Headway East London offers specialist support and services to survivors of brain injury and their families.

Explaining Delta Security’s appointment, Gabriel Eaton, representing the charity, said:

“We rely on access being smooth and hassle-free because many of our members will be in wheelchairs or using walking aid.

“It was quickly apparent that Delta Security knew a great deal more about the doors than our previous suppliers.

“They recommended the replacement of one door and repair of the other and quoted us for the job rather than charging us for separate visits.

“The installation was also completed on a Sunday to avoid restricting access during our opening hours”.

A Record DFA 127 electromechanical swing door operator system was chosen for its conformity with fire regulations, low emissions of noise, energy-efficiency, and reliable design. The system is offered in four configurations, with the ‘Gentle’ model suited to environments such as the one at the charity, where additional access time is often required.

Dave Mundy, Delta Security managing director, says the company has a wealth of experience of working in sensitive environments:

“Being unable to enter or leave a building without assistance can be embarrassing and frustrating, especially for those with long-term disabilities.

“Our engineers are equipped with sufficient product knowledge to allow them to provide optimal solutions in specific environments.”
