The Factory of the Future

Renishaw will be demonstrating the integration of Industry 4.0 and 3D printing technologies with manufacturing workflows at the China International Machine Tool Show (CIMT) from 15th to 20th April in Beijing.

Exhibiting as part of the United Kingdom pavilion at the event, the global industrial process automation and control solutions company also plans to manufacture an aerospace engine blade at its exhibition stand using a combination of traditional CNC machining and metal additive manufacturing (3D printing) processes.

Explaining the decision to exhibit at the event, Francesco Tivegna, managing director of Renishaw China, said:

“Intelligent machining processes are critical to companies that want to exploit the full benefits of Industry 4.0 and CIMT provides us with a platform to showcase how we can help our global partners apply high levels of automation and connectivity to their production processes to benefit from the ‘factory of the future’, today.

“For any manufacturer to remain competitive, they must satisfy the need for parts to be machined to closer tolerances and with a high degree of repeatability. Helping fulfil these requirements and being able to adapt to often rapidly changing customer demands, is where out factory automation solutions can add real value”.
