OCS Wins Birmingham Airport Contract

Birmingham Airport has awarded a five year contract to deliver cleaning and associated services across its property portfolio to OCS, following a competitive tender.

Under the contract which commences on 1st May 2019, OCS teams will assume responsibility for cleaning throughout the terminal buildings both airside and landside, as well as ancillary buildings including air traffic control, maintenance and office space. The contract also covers pest control and hygiene, and winterisation activities. Part of the solution being deployed by OCS is a complete refresh of equipment, and introduction of the latest technologies including a fleet of multipurpose snow clearing vehicles.

Commenting on the airport’s decision to award t the contract to OCS, Deane Arnold who is responsible for Terminal Operations, said:

“We are thrilled to be bringing the OCS team on board and were impressed with their creativity and flexibility in providing solutions suited to our business, particularly around the waste management provision. Our role is to ensure that passengers receive the best customer service while at the Airport and we’re confident in OCS’s ability to help us deliver that.”

Birmingham Airport is the UK’s seventh-busiest airport and receives more than 12.5 million passengers annually. The airport services more than 150 direct scheduled and charter routes.
