Intuitive Indoor Inspections

Flyability has launched Elios 2, a new range of inspection UAVs for confined spaces.

Since the launch of the first Elios platform in 2016, more than 550 drones have been deployed at over 350 sites to inspect critical infrastructure for industries as diverse as power generation, mining, oil and gas, chemicals and nuclear power generation.

Announcing the product launch, Flyability’s CEO, Patrick Thévoz, said:

“Whilst our expertise is in drone technologies, we are really in the business of keeping people safe and reducing asset downtime.

“At the heart of Flyability products lies collision-tolerance. It is the true enabler to gathering data in the intricate and hostile places where our customers are searching for insights.”

Collision-tolerance transforms passive mechanical protection into active intelligence and has been built into the flight controller and motors of the Elios 2 drone. It is complemented by seven vision stability sensors that point in all directions to provide GPS-free stabilization.

Ryan Turner, a Geotechnical Engineer at the Barrick Golden Sunlight Mine believes the technology makes indoor inspection accessible to everyone, adding:

“Here is a drone you can hand to somebody who’s never used one”.
