Harley House Fire Safety Contract

Polyteck Group has completed a £200,000 contract to replace and upgrade the fire detection and alarm system at a prestigious mansion block in London’s Marylebone.

Set behind a grand stone façade which exquisitely retains the building’s Edwardian charm, Harley House has recently been redeveloped by Galliard Homes to offer some of the most desirable residential accommodation in the capital.

Polyteck was tasked by property management firm, D&G Block Management, to remove and decommission dated fire detection and alarm systems ahead of the installation of new state of the art equipment.

This included a new Hybrid Analogue EMS Radio system and radio heat detection technology in each apartment and all communal spaces.

The latest EMS FireCell Radio Detection and Sounders have also been installed in common areas including stairwells and the building’s reception space to operate alongside a cause and effect system featuring delays, notifications and controls that will be managed from a master system panel installed in on-site Porters Lodges.

The company will also be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the fire alarm detection system.

Commenting on the contract award, Alex Georgiev, Polyteck operations director, said:

“We work in a number of high-end residential properties and are delighted to bring our expertise to Harley House. This is a stunning mansion block with a rich history and our fire detection and alarm systems will preserve this property for current residents as well as future generations.”

Sean Palmer, a building services engineer with Watts Group which consulted on the project, added:

“This was a complex project to navigate due to tenants residing in the areas of works, however, we are delighted with the efficiency and consideration of the Polyteck team. The new fire detection and alarm systems are aligned to the quality standards of such a prestigious building.”
