New Folding Door Hardware System

Allegion has launched its new Brio Weatherfold 5c folding door hardware system which supports panels of up to 80 kilograms in commercial and residential sites.

 

Featuring an exterior bottom-rolling system, the Weatherfold 5c is the latest product in a range which is already installed at thousands of sites around the world.

 

Brio Weatherfold 5c eliminates the need for a reinforced structural beam above a door opening, as the weight of the door is carried by the bottom rollers. The rollers are large in diameter, horizontal and come standard with stainless steel precision bearings. This is a feature the manufacturer believes will appeal especially to architects, contractors and joinery specialists, as it enhances the design options that are available.

 

The manufacturer also describes Brio Weatherfold 5c as a “fully self-cleaning system” that overcomes a tendency of bottom rolling systems to collect dirt, grit and  other matter with an impact on rolling efficiency.

 

Subjected to extensive corrosion resistance tests conducted in an industry standard salt spray chamber, the new product addition is manufactured from 300 series stainless steel with cast items in 316 grade.

 

Allegion is supplying Brio Weatherfold 5c with a 286-locking system as standard for added security.
