Checking in to Data Privacy
A new whitepaper from visitor management company Proxyclick and international law firm, Crowell and Moring, considers data privacy in front desk operations on the anniversary of GDPR.
Free to download, the whitepaper is targeted at business owners, facilities managers and other professionals who are responsible for protecting the data privacy of visitors to corporate premises.
Topics covered include GDPR and visitor management and, importantly, how building operators can ensure visitor management software is fully GDPR-compliant – with the authors including a helpful, six-step plan.
Discussing the whitepaper, Gregory Blondeau, Proxyclick director and co-founder, says:
“Visitor management represents a new way of looking at visits to your business or organisation, as it applies to anyone visiting a building, from tradesmen and suppliers to employees or partners visiting from other locations, and job applicants appearing for an interview.
“Regardless of how advanced a visitor management system is, the fact remains that the person signing in for a visit enters their personal data into software which is usually stored and leaves organisations vulnerable to data protection breaches.”
