Bringing Pride to Birmingham

Mitie is supporting diversity celebrations by working with the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) to transform bus shelters with a rainbow motif in the the lead up to Birmingham Pride 2019 which takes place this weekend.

Mitie’s team has undertaken a deep clean of the Smallbrook Queensway bus shelter – which features on the route of the parade this Saturday – ahead of it being painted in Pride rainbow colours. Around 40 specially designed Pride hearts have also been installed in bus shelters across the city centre with Pride rainbow vinyls decorating bus totems.

The integrated facility services provider is also adding Pride hearts to its Birmingham vehicle fleet and volunteering time to support WMCA at the Pride Parade on Saturday, 25 May 2019.

Kevin Murgatroyd, Mitie Transport Director, says:

“Championing diversity is core to the culture of our business, so we’re incredibly proud to be working with the West Midlands Combined Authority to support Birmingham Pride once again this year. We hope local residents and visitors alike will enjoy using their new Pride-themed bus stops!”
