ISSA Certifications for Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi (CCAD) has completed certification of its management systems to the ISSA Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) and CIMS-Green Building (CIMS-GB) standard.

To achieve certification, the UAE-based hospital underwent a comprehensive assessment by an accredited CIMS assessor.

During the assessment, CCAD demonstrated its compliance in five key areas – namely, quality systems, service delivery, human resource management, health, safety, and environmental stewardship, and the commitment of its management team.

Compliance with the CIMS-GB criteria illustrates CCAD’s commitment to delivering green and sustainable cleaning programs. The CIMS-GB designation helps CCAD provide customers with precisely what they need to secure points under the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification program for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance―or LEED EB: O&M―Green Building Rating System, while greening operations overall.

Discussing the facility, Rosemary Chisholm, CIMS auditor, said:

“CCAD combines state-of-the-art amenities and world-class service standards and has implemented many innovative programs including an organization-wide recycling program and energy efficiency and environmental policies.

“Following my evaluation and inspections, I had no hesitation in recommending CCAD to be granted CIMS-GB certification.”
