A Paradigm for Global Living
The 44th edition of FM Industry partner event, the China International Furniture Fair (CIFF), will take place in Shanghai Hongqiao from 8-11th September. More than 297,000 visitors and 1,500 exhibitors participated in the 2018 event.
Focusing on the entire furniture supply chain, the event is established as the industry’s premier platform for engaging with producers, buyers, retailers, distributors and designers.
The exhibition is organised by the China Trade Macalline Exhibition Company which is jointly owned by the China Foreign Trade Guangzhou Exhibition General Corporation and the Red Star Macalline Group – one of the largest furniture distributors in China. Both organisations recently announced the launch of the Exhibition and Store Alliance which seeks to leverage the exhibition’s brand and reach to support exhibitors.
Key objectives of CIFF include raising awareness of the quality and variety of Chinese furniture design, and providing a platform for global manufacturers to enter the growing Chinese market.
Key features
Hall 4.1, the ‘Contemporary Design Hall’, will feature innovative, modern design brands for home furnishings and showcase new trends in contemporary Chinese design. The hall will also host the fifth edition of the EAST Design Show which focuses on creations by high-end Asian designers.
September will also see the second edition of the Design Dream Show (DDS), a much-anticipated event that showcases innovative trends and highlights the credibility of Chinese design, whilst promoting the international competitiveness of Chinese industry.
The event will also host the M + China Top Interior Design Award which focuses on high-end interior design projects with a Chinese lifestyle theme, and the Pritzker Architecture Prize Forum which will include a discussion by Portuguese architect, Alvaro Siza, who will provide insights into into contemporary design trends in architecture, globally.
Hall 3 will focus on international design, with multiple, world-renowned brands, presenting new design concepts and trends, and introducing collections. Exhibitors include leading furniture manufacturers from Germany and Turkey.
The interaction between furniture design and lifestyle considerations will be explored in the dedicated ATG-Macalline Life Space which will include visionary, forward-looking life scenes.
The North Hall will host multiple lighting displays in response to growing demand from Chines buyers for high quality lamps and fittings. An International Lighting showcase will bring major global brands together for what the organisers are billing as China’s first truly l professional lighting show.
Hall 6.1 will be dedicated to outdoor furniture, fabrics.
The second floor of the exhibition venue is dedicated to complete solutions for exporters to international furniture markets, including those supplying home and work environments.
Shanghai International Furniture Machinery & Woodworking Machinery Fair
Co-located with CIFF in Halls 7.1 and 8.1, the machinery and woodworking machinery fair will feature production technologies and process machinery that is used for furniture production.
