CIRCOR International, Inc., brand, Leslie Controls, is incorporating a novel aerodynamic and hydrodynamic flow design into its “smart” valve design into its Aeroflow high-performance control valves for the global power generation, industrial, marine, and oil and gas markets.

 

Ideal for use in conjunction with de-superheating systems, and for power plant, industrial and defence applications, the new flow control valves provide Cv/size ratios previously not offered in cage-guided control valves, whilst simultaneously reducing flow turbulence and valve-generated noise.

 

As smart devices, the Aeroflow solutions feature optional “dead zone” inlets and outlets for accurate and stable pressure measurements, and digital positioning. The manufacturer also claims they offer superior shut-off characteristics as they are modelled on Leslie’s “protected” seat design which has been in operation for more than two decades in the power plant sector.

 

Aeroflow valves exceed ANSI Class VI shutoff requirements and sport a pressure energised pilot balanced plug that provides zero cc/min leak rates to prevent seat erosion and wire drawing.

 

CIRCOR additionally states an absence of piston seals makes them more reliable than alternatives used in shut-off situations.
