Next Gen Project Rooms
European office furniture and workplace design solutions specialist Kinnarps has launched Next Gen Project Rooms which it describes as a “first of its kind” solution for solving the common problem of locked down project rooms.
Combining an interactive digital canvas and flexible furniture, the workplace solution is designed to release additional meeting room hours and help businesses reduce costs associated with renting external meeting space, whilst introducing more agile ways of project working.
Kinnarps furniture in the room includes perching T-stools and balls, sit-stand desks and comfortable office chairs meaning all room uses are covered from a stand up ‘scrum’ project session to a working lunch.
Marc Bird, Kinnarps UK marketing director, says:
“Traditionally, confidential projects – and particularly in sectors such as finance or technology, require a dedicated room to be locked down for weeks, which means other people can’t book the room for meetings. Kinnarps’ Next Gen Project Room lets project teams use the room only when they need to. The mix of the interactive screen, video conferencing facility and flexible furniture ensures a productive session involving global team members.
“The ROI is a no-brainer.”
Jon Knight, commercial director at Ascentae, the exclusive distributor in the United Kingdom for the technology, adds:
“The digital canvas which can physically range from two to 18 meters in length and even go around corners, can give you up to 60 metres of digital workspace. You can scroll the canvas along with your hand, tap to add handwritten notes or Post-Its and amend documents. It automatically saves the work, via secure cloud-based software, to be available to all members of the project team”.
The average cost of space in London for a typical project room is approximately £22,500 per annum. The lead-in price for a NGPR is £7,500 meaning a business could re-coup the cost within six months.
