IFSEC Security and Fire Excellence Awards Nominations
UK integrated service provider Axis Group has received three nominations at the IFSEC Fire and Security Excellence 2019 Awards, including “Security Guarding Company of the Year”, which subsidiary.Axis Security has won on four occasions.
Axis Group’s dedicated learning and development resource, Axis Academy, has also been recognised with a nomination for one of its recent training initiatives.
The Security Guarding Company of the Year Award (over £25 million turnover) nomination recognises Axis Security’s most successful year of organic growth following the acquisition of £24 million of new business representing an increase of 140 per cent on 2018 sales.
Axis Security has also been nominated for ACS Champion of the Year, recognising its ACS score of 174 that it has held for two years running and where assessors made no suggestions for improvements, as well as Security Training Initiative of the Year for its Security Masterclass. This course has been delivered by Trevor Dyson, Axis Consultant and former Head of Counter Terrorism for the City of London Police, and in the last year has trained 200 of Axis’ customers and security officers.
The nomination for Axis Group’s dedicated learning and development resource, Axis Academy, relates to its “Working Safely Near Open Water” course which has been developed with the United Kingdom’s Department for Environment and Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) for a central London property that has an easily accessible canal running through it. The course aims to help staff feel more knowledgeable and better prepared to deal with the risks of working immediately alongside a busy open waterway.
