UK Workshop on In-house Abuse (London, 12th November)
Workplace grievances and sexual harassment in the #MeToo era will be the focus of an interactive day for HR and Employee Relations (ER) managers who wish to learn about handling potentially complex cases impacting their organisations.
In 2017, #MeToo exploded online, largely thanks to encouragement by actress Alyssa Milano as a result of the Harvey Weinstein allegations. It was reportedly used by more than 4.7 million people in 12m Facebook posts, over the first 24 hours alone.
The widespread prevalence of sexual mistreatment, particularly in the workplace, saw a digital movement ā encouraging more people to come forward with their experiences of in-house bullying and abuse.
As incidents continue to occur across the globe, ESP Lawās team of highly experienced employment lawyers will be hosting #ESPLawLive. This is an interactive workshop highlighting the damaging impacts of workplace grievances ā and how forward-thinking HR and ER professionals can handle them effectively.
Taking place on 12th November at BPP Law School, Holborn, the event will include a role-play of a sexual harassment grievance scenario. Additionally, it will provide legal insight enabling managers to control their businessās reputation, avoid claims and ensure a safe working environment.
There will be a question and answer session allowing delegates to tap into the expertise and guidance of ESP Lawās specialist team, who regularly host informative seminars to further upskill customers.
Pete Byrne, founder of ESP Law, says:
“One of the most powerful learning mechanisms is through experience. We hope delegates wonāt have to encounter cases of workplace harassment first-hand, but itās important they know exactly what to do, and understand the consequences for both employer and employee.
“Our practical event format should immerse HR and ER professionals into the topic, so they leave our session empowered to deal with the issues, should they arise in future.”
The workshop costs £30+VAT and will be held in the auditorium of BPP Law School, in Red Lion Street, Holborn, on Tuesday 12th November from 10am-4pm.
