Sodexo Rolls Out Wx Workplace Consultancy

Sodexo has announced it will be offering its Wx data-driven workplace analytics and optimisation at its locations in Paris, London, Singapore and Montreal.

The concept, which was originally announced in 2012, utilises data collated from infrared and thermal sensors, artificial intelligence (AI) applications and accelerometers to reduce an organisation’s spatial footprint or optimise collaborative working environments. A novel feature of the platform is the application of ethnographic data to workplace environments which Sodexo describes as placing humans “at the heart of analyses”.

The French multinational foodservice and facilities management provider is offering consultancy services in conjunction with cutting-edge cloud-based data providers and processors, including CSM which specialises in using connected objects to measure occupancy and operates a mobile app that allows organisations to visualise available spaces in real time via a unique dashboard.

Another Sodexo partner, Spaceti, supplies an integrated analytics platform which displays a host of workspace and parking utilisation, indoor air quality (IAQ) and other environmental data across mobile applications, meeting room panels and AV displays. This data allows workspace planners and HR professionals to obtain a holistic view of facilities.

Yannick Villar, Wx CEO & Co-founder, says:

“The goal is for Wx to become a leading name in workspace digitalization, helping companies to quantify and improve the user experience in office spaces through ethnography, IoT, and data. That is why we are working with expert start-ups in the sector, such as Spaceti and CSM, who  share our belief that the performance of organizations depends on the quality of life of employees.

“By combining CSM and Spaceti’s complementary technologies, we are able to offer our clients direct benefits, such as quantified data, to assist with facility management decisions and to improve their employees’ workplace experience and wellbeing.”
