Wakefield-based B38 Group was awarded a 36-month contract following a competitive tender. The company will provide a total facilities management (TFM) service including technical building services such as maintenance of fire alarms, lifts and dry risers. The provision extends to cleaning, catering and waste management services.

Announcing the contract award, Mark Blenkinsop, Head of Estates and Facilities at KCOM, said:

“With 115 years of experience behind us, KCOM has stayed at the forefront of technology and communications, constantly evolving and investing to ensure all our customers can access the best possible digital solutions. Keeping our office and network sites in excellent working order is a critical part of our operation.

The company has developed a number of tried and tested processes to help deliver effective account management, ensuring that all stakeholders are kept engaged and informed.”

David Bromley, national account manager at B38 Group, added:

“We are able to draw upon a wealth of front-line and back office experience, giving KCOM confidence in B38 Group’s understanding of the specific requirements of working efficiently and safely on multi-site national contracts.

“We hold the required company-wide flexibility and a ‘can do’ approach, meaning that KCOM will receive clear and concise communication and transparent reporting for all of our operational works so that everyone involved stays informed.”
