Protecting a Major Call Centre in Belfast
Intelligent LiDAR sensor technology from OPTEX is helping to protect the Belfast call centre premises of a Fortune 500 company.
LiDAR technologies measure distance to a target by illuminating it with laser light that is reflected back to a sensor. The ‘virtual’ detection area created cannot be seen by the naked eye and is easily adjusted by configuration software to meet the requirements of any particular site.
The call centre installation by local fire and security systems specialist, ZEST Security, created a virtual wall above partition walling to monitor objects being thrown over the partitioning.
Masaya Kida, Optex EMEA managing director, says:
“High sensitivity and high-speed detection capabilities allow LiDAR sensors to detect any object thrown, even when it is as small as a USB stick.
“The exact point of detection can also be mapped and associated with cameras monitoring this area.”
Justin Doherty, a director of Zest Security, adds: “The client was very pleased with the speed and simplicity of the installation, and is very happy with the performance of this new solution.”
