Supporting the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity
Compass Group UK & Ireland has extended its commitment under the UK Armed Forces Covenant by becoming a “Gold Bridge” partner of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC).
The affiliation will allow the foodservice and facility services provider to sponsor key events in the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity calendar, support employee fundraising, attend partner events, and provide catering and hospitality for a variety of RNRMC functions over the course of the year.
Compass will also be selling a selection of branded RNRMC merchandise via its on-site shops within the Defence estate to assist with brand awareness and overall fundraising objectives.
ESS, the defence and government services arm of Compass Group UK & Ireland, provides services to a number of Naval sites within the South West, including HMS Excellent in Portsmouth, the home of the RNRMC headquarters where a plaque acknowledging the new Gold Bridge Partnership was presented to ESS managing director, Mark Webster. The occasion was marked by providing a celebratory VIP lunch for 16 guests from the local Naval hierarchy and those associated with the RNRMC.Â
Speaking during the event, Adrian Bell, RNRMC CEO, said:
“This is a really exciting and innovative partnership and I’m hugely grateful for the genuine interest and commitment shown by ESS both corporately and individually. I am delighted that ESS is offering the RNRMC so many different ways of interacting with and supporting our beneficiaries.”
Mark Webster, said: “We at ESS are extremely proud to support the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) and particularly the valuable work it does every day on behalf of our serving Naval Service men and women, Royal Navy and Royal Marine veterans and their families. Our aim is to not only provide the best possible support for our Armed Forces, by delivering world-class services to improve living and working environments for its people, but to pursue a wider purpose for our business by supporting charitable endeavour and the wider Naval community. To that end we are delighted to be able to work so closely with RNRMC.”
Mick Hickman, Chairman of the Armed Forces Covenant Group, added:
“Compass Group UK & Ireland is an Armed Forces-friendly organisation and as such we take great pleasure in strengthening our relationship with the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, a hugely important world-class grant making organisation and the principal charity of the Royal Navy. As proud signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant, this partnership reinforces our commitment to support those from the Armed Forces community.”
