Appeal for PPE Donations to UK Care Homes
Personalised clothing specialist Garbmann is appealing for support in helping to supply packages of personal protective equipment (PPE) to care homes as the sector struggles to protect frontline care workers and residents.
The most sought-after items include disposable aprons, gloves, face masks, coveralls, hand sanitisers, goggles and face visors. All items should be unused and unpackaged.
Plans are being drawn up to provide key care workers with the equipment they need in a vital step to ensure their safety and containing the spread of the COVID-19 virus amongst the elderly or unable.
Garbman director, Laurence Sharpe, says:
“Anyone can donate money or equipment, and we will be happy to supply them with delivery addresses or arrange collection if they are local to our offices in Saffron Walden, Essex.
“All donations are fully tracked, and you will be publicly thanked for helping, with recipients of PPE also being notified of the source of any equipment they receive.
“Businesses currently in lockdown, including building, scaffolding and deep clean companies, are especially likely to have excess equipment which isn’t being used, and we urge them to help if they can.”
