Peugeot, Citroën, DS Automobiles and Vauxhall manufacturer, Groupe PSA, has extended its 10-year multi-service contract with Mitie in the United Kingdom.
Under the two-year extension valued at £5.2 million, Mitie, which currently provides engineering, maintenance and repair services to production plants, parts distribution centres, and the Luton and Coventry offices of Europe’s second largest carmaker, will assume additional responsibility for cleaning and waste management at sites in Luton and Toddington, and waste management services at Groupe PSA’s Ellesmere Port facility which produces the Vauxhall Astra.
Mitie will also deploy waste bin monitoring technology to gather data on volumes of waste collected and how different waste bin locations are used, with a view to making recommendations on optimising waste collection and segregation, increasing recycling rates, and helping Europe’s second largest automotive group minimise its environmental footprint.
