Supporting Reopening Retailers

Philips Professional Display Solutions (PDS) has announced a support and rewards programme to assist retailers with overcoming challenges presented by COVID-19.

Developed with funding previously earmarked for its events and exhibitions programme, InSync provides a new destination for retailers and installation partners to discover and be inspired by some of the latest technology innovations and advancement to help them on their post-COVID journey (including Philips PDS’s PeopleCount solution).

A component of the new programme, Total Care, Unlocked, offers a selection of channel and, by extension, customer end benefits, including exclusive pricing offers across digital signage, LED, and Pro TVs, sales incentives and promotions, a discounted five-year product warranty, and commercial assistance – with the possibility to defer the start of payments for up to six months.

The menu of offering allows businesses to invest now in new technologies, helping to ensure safety of their staff and customers, whilst creating or maintaining a competitive advantage both today and in the future.

Franck Racape, Vice President, Philips PDS, EMEA, says: “Knowing the immense pressure and challenges our partners are all experiencing, we’ve decided to reroute our budgets for our normal marketing activities across Europe to help them kick start back into business.

“Bringing feature-rich products at market-leading prices is just the beginning and now, with Unlocked, we’re offering much more – for you, for your people and for your business.

“InSync is the new destination for both our existing customers and new ones to discover innovative ways to support their own customers and guide them through these new and financially challenging times, propelling business forward for the AV industry and beyond.”

InSync also provides a new home for Philips PDS’ PeopleCount solution which includes capacity management signage that has been developed in conjunction with Bosch Security Systems, NowSignage and other partners.

Launched in April, PeopleCount uses Android powered digital signage, smart camera technology and sophisticated intelligent software to automatically manage a stores capacity, alerting staff and customers when it’s safe and unsafe to enter the premises using a traffic light system and regular live updated (waiting times, promotions, store rules etc). The solution, can also be integrated into automatic doors, removes the need for additional or redeployed staff to monitor or manage queue outside premises, freeing up staff to focus on customer service.

PeopleCount is now being installed all over Europe, with retailers and restaurants in Spain, Netherlands and Finland already using the technology to protect their staff and customers.
