Waste Contractor Shortlisted for National Award

Axil Integrated Services’ work with global engine and generator manufacturer Cummins has been recognised with a shortlist place in this year’s MRW National Recycling Awards.

Axil currently manages waste streams at multiple Cummins sites including locations in Darlington and Stamford under a three-year contract which was renewed earlier in 2020. In addition to helping the engine manufacturer sustain the ‘Zero to Landfill’ status it achieved in 2013, Axil has achieved sustainable savings by enhancing waste segregation and reducing the use of manual labour by an estimated 4,000 hours.

Managing director, Edward Pigg, comments: “The MRW National Recycling Awards are hugely respected and it’s fantastic for Axil to be recognised for the work that we do.

“When Cummins turned to us to manage their complex waste needs, their costs were escalating, and their service levels were stagnating. We’ve been pivotal in helping Cummins to overcome long-standing challenges to reduce their overall environmental impact, all whilst achieving savings.”

Cummins HSE officer, Fraser Troup, adds: “We’ve been very impressed with the quality of Axil’s innovation and even more with the reduced environmental impact and increased savings.

“What stands out most for me about Axil is the personal service and willingness to help us resolve issues and offer innovative solutions. It’s refreshing to work with such a responsive business.”

Axil operates from bases in Corby and Cannock in the United Kingdom.
