Wiring Up Non-Wired Doors

Grosvenor Technology’s Janus C4 platform now integrates with the wireless Aperio® lock from the ASSA ABLOY to allow users to add access control to non-wired doors with mechanical locks.

Grosvenor’s original Janus system was the world’s first Windows©-based access control platform and has been installed in over 10,000 sites globally. Developed to make building management even easier, Janus C4 is Grosvenor’s latest end-to-end access control solution.

The Janus C4 system allows businesses to manage access rights for individuals and groups of people securely, whether across a single site or multiple ones in different locations around the world.

Designed to help boost security, improve operational efficiencies and reduce risk, Grosvenor’s Janus C4 is a cloud-based access control platform that allows operators to access data in real-time and manage sites remotely. This helps maximise efficiencies, streamline processes and reduce administration for staff.

To help furher enhance security and improve access control, Grosvenor’s Janus C4 now supports wireless Aperio® locks, which are battery-powered and feature integrated RFID card readers.

Aperio® offers an easy-to-install, cost-effective and secure alternative to wired solutions, enabling mechanical locks to be wirelessly linked to an access control system, such as the Janus C4 system. Access rights can be established fast, from either a PC or smartphone, and can be revoked just as quickly too, should an incident arise. This ensures building managers can stay in control of who has access to a site and what doors they can open at all times.

Not only does Aperio® eliminate the cost and hassle associated with electrical wiring, but it also removes the issue of lost master keys for doors fitted with mechanical locks. If an RFID card is lost, then it is simply a case of withdrawing the individual’s access rights and setting up a new key card.

Available in a stylish and modern design, Aperio® help stake the stress out of extending access control to non-wired doors, in a scalable and cost-effective way.

Mike Croker, Programme Manager at Grosvenor, said: “As one of Aperio®’s original partners for our first Janus system, we are very pleased to announce that our latest C4 platform now integrates with the award-winning wireless locking technology too. Whereas traditional access control doors can be expensive to install due to the extensive wiring involved, Aperio® offers a cost-effective and easy-to-install wireless locking solution for businesses.

“When combined with Janus C4, which enables businesses to manage access control in a quick, easy and timely manner, the result is a comprehensive building management and security system that users can depend on, no matter where they are in the world.”

David Smyth, Aperio® Specialist at the ASSA ABLOY Door Hardware & Access Control Group, adds: “We are very pleased to be continuing our relationship with Grosvenor, with the integration of our wireless Aperio® locks with the Janus C4 system. For those seeking an assured access control solution, our technology can help businesses stay safe and secure, while helping them save money too.”
