Bolshoi Theatre Printer Installation

A roll-to-roll LED printer is supporting opera and ballet performances at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow.

Following the purchase of the machinery which was facilitated by EFI inkjet partner, PRIZMIX, the Pro 32r+ printer is supporting the theatre’s Art and Production Complex which hosts staff working on scenery for stage decoration.

Cool cure LED imaging technology used in the printer is compatible with a variety of flexible substrates, including thin or specialty media that cannot withstand the heat required with traditional UV or latex printers,  and stage linoleum, props and canvases.

Optional accessories acquired by Russia’s leading venue for ballet performances and opera, include white ink and a Media Edge Guard which enables printing on media with uneven or wavy edges.

Alexey Safronov, PRIZMIX general manager, comments: “When we listened to Bolshoi Theatre’s printing requirements, we knew that the Pro 32r+ was the right solution for them. The high efficiency of the equipment is ensured by a reliable platform designed for around-the-clock operation, printing speeds up to 256 square metres per hour with media widths up to 320cm”.
