Planon Identified as IWMS Leader

Planon has been named a ‘Leader’ in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Integrated Workplace Management System 2020-2021 Vendor Assessment which provides an overview of the competitive fitness of ICT suppliers.

The IDC MarketScape evaluated Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) vendors by two primary categories; namely the capability of IWMS vendors and their product offerings today, and each ventor’s future strategy and how well it aligns with customer requirements for the next three to five years.

The assessment highlighted Planon’s strengths in three areas:

  1. Open platform strategy, which allows customers to connect and embed different technologies, applications and PropTech easily, flexibly and in a scalable manner.
  2. The company’s focus on expanding its partner ecosystem and making it an important part of its growth strategy; and
  3. Planon’s configurability, including self-service configuration tools, which allow customers to continuously align their IWMS applications with changing needs or strategies.

The IDC MarketScape report further states: “[Organisations] with an IWMS already in place are able to more easily pivot than those still relying on spreadsheets or outdated systems”, a factor that has been especially important for organisations navigating uncertainty and changes to their facilities and real estate portfolios during COVID-19 shutdowns and restrictions, and as part of their preparation for disruption to the commercial environment created by the pandemic.

According to the report, a modern SaaS and cloud-based IWMS can help orchestrate faster data-driven enterprise-wide decision making and actions compared with siloed, disjointed, and sluggish legacy systems.

Juliana Beauvais, research manager, Enterprise Applications at IDC, comments: “Organisations need a robust set of workplace management tools to give them the flexibility and resiliency to manage through and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic”.

“Unfortunately, too many organisations are missing the point of having an Integrated Workplace Management System and are using an assorted collection of applications.  To create a successful long-term strategy for your organisation’s workplaces, campuses, facilities, and retail stores, you must fully leverage all the capabilities of an IWMS.”

Pierre Guelen, Planon CEO, adds: “Large organisations are confronted with a multitude of options in the IWMS market today and IDC’s initiative to launch an IWMS IDC MarketScape will further increase buyers’ awareness of their needs and the value an IWMS can bring.

“This report reinforces Planon’s position as a market leader in providing rich functionality combined with cloud-based open platform capabilities – allowing our customers to connect and embed their preferred property technology in a scalable and future-proof way.”
