Staatskanzlei Rheinland-Pfalz Hard FM Contract

Landesbetrieb Liegenschafts- und Baubetreuung (LBB), the real estate and construction department of Rheinland-Pfalz, has appointed STRABAG PFS as hard services contractor for the State Chancellery Building in Mainz.

The five-year contract includes an option to extend, and was awarded after a Europe-wide tender for building fabric, systems and machinery maintenance, inspection and repair services. STRABAG PFS will self-deliver services at the site and also provide 24/7 on-call maintenance services.

The State Chancellery building is the seat of government for Rheinland-Pfalz, and consists of two buildings with a net floor area of around 8,400 square metres. The buildings date from the 18th century, and are have listed (“monumental”) status in Germany. An extensive renovation programme was completed in 2009.

Andrea Jager, managing director, comments: “We are pleased at being commissioned to deliver services for this contract which requires a high threshold of technical capability as a result of exacting safety standards across the state”.
