Association for Key Account Management Welcomes EMCOR
EMCOR UK is the first facilities management provider to join the Association for Key Account Management (AKAM) which is dedicated to achieving recognition of KAM as a distinct discipline.
Key account management is defined as “the systematic process of planning and managing a mutually beneficial partnership between an organisation and its most important customers”, and the association which launched with sponsorship from the KEDGE Business School in Bordeaux in 2016, has attracted 400 corporate and individual members globally – with Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin) also supporting its programme as a sponsor.
EMCOR UK has long recognised the importance of key account management. Since 2008, more than 300 of the company’s employees have received in-house KAM training and development after participating in programmes which are aligned with ISO 44001 – the international standard for collaborative business relationship management systems.
The EMCOR UK programme has also been certified by the Institute for Collaborative Working (ICW).
Steven Dolan, Operations Director, has joined the AKAM board and says: “Our partnership with AKAM is a natural progression to further our knowledge, create value for our customers and provide our employees with access to best practice resources to support their personal development including professionally recognised qualifications and accreditations.”

Membership of AKAM provides access to white papers, additional training, webinars and development programmes, EMCOR UK employees will automatically become AKAM members on completion of one of the company’s in-house KAM programmes.
