New Appointee to Drive Sustainability at ABM UK

ABM has appointed an Environment and Sustainability Manager to drive delivery of sustainable initiatives and reporting, across its business and industry and aviation divisions, in the UK.

Katrina Hazell joins ABM after spending almost three decades of her career in the construction industry, most recently as Sustainability and Social Value Manager at Balfour Beatty. A Chartered Civil Engineer and a Postgraduate in Sustainable Business Leadership, Katrina brings a wealth of experience and expertise to ABM, specialising in sustainability and social value outcome. She will be based between her home and the company’s Ruislip head office.

ABM is on a mission to continue reducing its emissions; change its approach from waste management to materials recovery; and increase its community engagement and social value delivery whilst supporting the supply chain team to actively engage with sustainable procurement.

Reporting to ABM UK’s Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Director Andrew Lewinton, Katrina will be responsible for aligning the sustainability, social value and climate change strategy to the UK marketplace.

Through data management and reporting, provision of case studies, supporting teams, systems management and driving collaboration and innovation, Katrina has strong credentials in the delivery of sustainability programmes.

Katrina comments: “ABM is committed to improving and demonstrating its sustainability performance to better business principles. Through close working relationships with teams across the business my work will be focused on helping to achieve that.

“This is an incredibly exciting opportunity. My biggest challenge will be capturing all of the progress for onward reporting.”

Andrew Lewinton says: “We’re thrilled to welcome Katrina to the business. She is an expert at developing, supporting, and delivering sustainable solutions and reporting the effectiveness of such initiatives to stakeholders.

“We look forward to having Katrina on board and working together to further build on our strategy and goals in the delivery of sustainability excellence.”
