Supporting Care Homes with Bedding

Atalian Servest has donated 400 sets of bedding to Cornwall’s largest independent care provider for distribution to the 16 homes in southwest England.

The bedding sets were surplus to the requirements of a temporary accommodation village established by the facility services provider to house more than 700 security officers deployed under a contract with FCDO Events (the events division of the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office) for the 2021 G7 Summit at Carbis Bay in Cornwall in June.

Committed to supporting local charities and the communities in which they work in, Atalian Servest wanted to ensure the bedding wasn’t left languishing in storage when it could be put to good use, and identified Cornwall Care as a suitable beneficiary after approching Cornwall VSF, a forum of voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations, for guidance.

Cornwall Care focuses on the care of elderly and vulnerable people. Its highly skilled, professional staff give practical assistance that improves the lives of those they look after, whilst also helping relatives and friends. As well as offering residential, nursing and dementia care across Cornwall, the organisation supports younger adults with mental health issues and helps over 1,000 people across the county to live independently in their own homes.

Anne Thomas, CEO, says: “I am very grateful for the donation of the bedding, which will be used in our homes and in the homes of the many vulnerable people we support in the community. We are a charity and generous donations like this really do make a difference, especially after a horribly difficult year which has affected everyone involved in the care sector badly.”

Daniel Dickson, Chief Executive Officer of Atalian Servest UK & Ireland, adds: “We believe it is important to give back to the community and make the world a better place. We endeavour to actively support initiatives in local communities where we work and we are thrilled to have been able to assist Cornwall Care with this donation.”
