Promoting Employee Wellness and Engagement
The new Hapi app from hospitality brand BaxterStorey is designed to promote wellbeing and increase engagement of its 6,000+ strong UK workforce.
The app, which was piloted during the Covid-19 pandemic as a method of supporting team members, aims to improve employee wellbeing and encourage better mental health and self-care by ensuring people have access to the resources that they need.
Hapi will also offer access to payroll, training resources, and team member incentives for supermarkets, gyms, and BaxterStorey suppliers.
With many of the company’s teams working at different client locations, the app will enable company-wide messages to be sent straight to all team members, allowing the organisation to better communicate and adapt to business needs.
Team members can access all the information via their mobile phones or online, including payslips, social media links, and career opportunities. They can also access e-learning on the go, with 78 per cent having completed their annual refresher training via the platform already.
Training resources, such as TED Talks and Chef Academy culinary videos, will also encourage self-learning and career development.
There are also plans to expand the app’s feature set to include a reward and recognition function where managers can recognise loyalty and instantly praise and thank team members for good work.
In a recent wellbeing survey by BaxterStorey, 94 per cent of respondents reported that their general health was good, while 47 percent shared that connecting with others was very important to them. The majority of respondents said that wellbeing was a priority in their lives.
Maureen Sandbach, people director, BaxterStorey, adds: “It has always been important to me and the business that the teams throughout the country have access to the same resources and insights so, whether you’re in Aberdeen, Newcastle, Bristol, Cambridge or London, we are keen to have a platform to instantly share sometimes vital information and support on wellbeing, development, and other business-critical issues.
“We’ve always had a thorough communications process and see Hapi as the next step in enhancing our employee engagement activity.
“The functionality on the app means messages can be sent straight to all team members, making it even more agile than before.”
