Protecting a Shopping Mall from Covid-19 and Other Pathogens

Incentive FM have applied an innovative antimicrobial coating from Nordic Chem at out-of-town shopping and leisure centre, The Mall at Cribbs Causeway, near Bristol.

Independently certified to prevent the spread of harmful pathogens including the SARS-Cov-2 coronavirus for a period of up to 90 days with a single application, the coating supplements regular touchpoint cleaning by Incentive cleaning operatives.

Leon Morse, Head of Operations at Cribbs Causeway, explains: “The health, safety, and hygiene of guests, retailers, and staff at The Mall is our number one priority, and we are proud to be the first shopping centre in the UK to have installed a revolutionary surface hygiene coating throughout the centre.

“One of the reasons we partnered with Incentive FM as our facilities management specialist was their focus on innovation. Cleaning techniques such as this surface coating will help us to create a safer environment for all to visit and work, as-well as provide cost and service efficiencies for our business.”

Glenn Wilson, Director of Retail & Distribution at Incentive FM, adds: “Since the easing of lockdown restrictions in the UK, many of our clients are understandably nervous about the levels of cleanliness in their sites. We’re aware that public spaces such a retail environments have a great deal of touchpoints in communal areas and it is crucial to maintain a high level of cleanliness in these areas. We will be applying the coating in all high touch points of the centre every 14 days to ensure the absolute maximum protection for visitors, and peace of mind for our clients.”
