LightArt Introduces Acoustic Lights for Custom Connected Shapes

New from award-winning Seattle and Salt Lake City based lighting studio LightArt comes Static Links, a high-performance acoustic lighting system available in configurable dynamic shapes.

The latest evolution of static fixtures from 3form’s lighting fabrication and design studio couples acoustic paneling with performance lighting core capabilities, with Static Links’ central hubs serving as conduits that can be connected and built into hundreds of different configurations and patterns. Static Links’ connectable design pushes the boundaries of design by combining versatility with functionality.

“We were the first to integrate acoustics into linear lighting, now we’re taking this product to the next level,” explains Edwin Vice, LightArt’s Director of Research and Development. “We want to inspire our specifiers to create limitless, customizable acoustic ceiling systems that elevate any architectural space.”

Static Links; four standard geometric shapes are aptly named, X, Y, T, and L—with each configuration making for easy custom installation. Regardless of whether the application is an open office environment or a large multi-use room, Static Links visually enliven any space with suspended, light-filled designs. The fixtures can be specified as individual pendants, but together they create an expansive ceiling system. A cluster of Y patterns can create an arrow-like design for wayfinding, or a series of X pendants can anchor a central gathering space. These fixtures were also created with the understanding that not every environment is conducive to linear baffles. Static Links’ angled fixtures can nestle in corners or create unique wave-like patterns on tiered ceilings.

“Static Links gives designers the standard building blocks to create ceiling systems that specially fit their space,” says Vice. “As specifiers create their own design, the installation appears more custom.”

Available in six leg lengths (ranging from three to eight feet), three height options (ranging from six to sixteen inches), 15 Sola Felt colorways, and a variety of wood and powder-coated finishes, Static Links can be personalized more than 100 ways. The fixtures are rooted in function, but their added design elements accommodate a variety of aesthetics from school colors to branding colors. While many architectural lights blend into an architectural space, Static Links are designed to be noticed. Offering more versatility customizability than linear baffles, Static Links illustrates one more way LightArt stays ahead of the curve.

LightArt’s 4.5mm thick PET felt is manufactured with 50% post-consumer recycled content. Each Static Link fixture is equipped with LightArt’s Performance Lighting Core, a game-changing solid-state lighting solution delivering high-performance lighting to decorative fixtures.

The Core provides designers a wider range of color temperatures, lumen outputs, beam spreads and dimming options compared to a traditional decorative LED fixture.
