DHL Delivery Drivers Vote for Strike Action

JCB delivery drivers employed by DHL in the UK have voted 96 per cent in favour of industrial action during a formal strike ballot organised by the GMB union.
The vote follows a below-inflation pay offer of 5 per cent with inflation currently running at 9 per cent according to GMB or 7 per cent according to Office for National Statistics’ Consumer Prices Index (CPI) figures for the 12 months to March 2022, from the delivery giant to the workers who deliver JCB parts between factories across the United Kingdom.
Workers will walk out on 23 and 24 May, with additional dates to be confirmed.
Stuart Harrison, GMB Organiser, comments: “GMB is here to support our members in fighting for what they deserve. These are skilled drivers who are falling behind with pay rates while cost of living skyrockets.
āThe company needs to concentrate on their employees and not sponsorship deals around the world.
āGMB members have rejected a below inflation pay offer and have decided enough is enough.”
