Flexible Workspace Specialist Signs First Enterprise Member

B Corp certified flexible workspace specialist x+why has signed the social care staffing app Florence as the first enterprise member of its new Birmingham site, Foundry at Brindleyplace. The fast-growing company will take 48 desks with its own meeting room and break out space.

Founded in 2017 to help relieve the UK’s social care crisis, Florence has grown to over 50,000 care professionals and will be taking a 48 desks space at Foundry as its hub for the South of England, Midlands and Wales.

Brindleyplace landlord Hines, the international real estate firm, has partnered with x+why to operate the 40,000 sq ft of space spread over the first, second and third floors at Foundry, to provide a fully serviced and managed work environment. The space has been designed to support and inspire young, impact-led companies on their journey to profit. With wellbeing, collaboration, and fun the heart of the entrepreneurial hub, it’s a destination for business and personal development as well meeting the growing demand for flexible workspace in the Midlands.

Alongside a thriving community are a range of amenities which even the largest of corporations would be proud of, ranging from event space to a tech-enabled gym.

x+why recently became a certified B Corporation which means it is committed to reinventing business by pursuing purpose as well as profit. To underscore the building’s green credentials, Foundry is currently working towards the RICS-accredited SKA Silver rating, demonstrating an active commitment to sustainability.

Dejan Kojin, managing director for Florence in the South of England, the Midlands and Wales, says: “We chose x+why’s space at Foundry for our regional hub due to its unrivalled facilities and, especially, the importance placed on wellbeing and fun – key factors in the future of any workspace.

“We were also very impressed by x+why’s fantastic sustainability credentials which are very important to us in our aim to drive positive social change.”

Rupert Dean, x+why CEO, adds: “We are delighted to announce Florence as our first member at Brindleyplace, a fantastic company that is making incredible steps to relieve the UK’s social care crisis.

“With excellent transport links Birmingham is perfectly located as a regional hub for any business. Foundry itself offers a high-quality workspace centred on wellbeing and sustainability, a wonderful environment in which to grow their workforce.”

Matt Long, Head of Customer Engagement and Placemaking at Brindleyplace, comments: “x+why are supporting economic growth in the region by offering a range of businesses the flexibility to develop and the addition of Florence underpins this.

“Brindleyplace is already home to a variety of organisations from different sectors and the new workspace proposition provides the opportunity to have a Birmingham city-centre base that is tailored to the individual needs of expanding companies.

“I’m very much looking forward to welcoming more businesses here in the near future.”
