Aramark Partners with 2022 Green Sports Alliance Summit

Aramark provided dining and hospitality services for this year’s Green Sports Alliance (GSA) annual summit at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, which discussed ways to build healthier, more sustainable communities where we live and play.
The gathering at venue, where GSA member Aramark Sports + Entertainment manages the dining and hospitality program, involved more than 350 people from across the sports world.
This summit is the largest and most influential gathering for the sports community to unite around sustainability. It allows hundreds of industry professionals to learn and share better practices and the latest innovations in greening operations, advancing the supply chain, and engaging fans.
Alison Birdwell, President and CEO of Aramark Sports + Entertainment, participated in a panel discussion on Leadership and Investing in Sustainability. Facilitated by Roger McClendon, Executive Director at GSA, the panel offered different perspectives on what it means to be a leader in today’s changing business landscape.
“The Green Sports Alliance and their summit are important ways for people in the industry to get together to explore ways to bring about meaningful change in the area of environmental sustainability,” says Birdwell. “The group’s mission fits perfectly with Aramark’s own sustainability goals, so it was a pleasure to be so involved this year.”
To help plan and execute the event, Jenifer Freeman, Aramark General Manager at U.S. Bank Stadium, mobilized her team onsite, and got an assist from Director of Culinary Innovation Chef Rich Grab, who also spoke at the summit about plant-forward food and menus, which can be both better for people and for the planet.
