Sea Cadets to Take London by Storm on Trafalgar Day 2022

Thousands are expected to watch The Sea Cadets’ annual Trafalgar Day Parade from Horse Guards Parade and The Mall towards Buckingham Palace on Sunday 16th October.

Some 400 cadets from across the UK, ranging in age from 10 to 17, will be in the capital to commemorate the Battle of Trafalgar and display their skills, teamwork and training during this colourful and historic event – the first large-scale Trafalgar Day event since 2019 following the Covid pandemic.

Trafalgar Day commemorates Nelson’s victory at the Battle of Trafalgar on the 21st of October 1805. It is the most important day in the Naval Calendar, defining British sailing for hundreds of years and a significant event in the Sea Cadets calendar.

Sea Cadets broadens horizons and creates possibilities through a different kind of adventure. Working across the UK with more than 14,000 young people aged 10 to 18, we help them develop into resilient, confident young people who can launch well in life, whatever their background.

The charity operates over 400 units across the UK, with some 9,000 volunteers giving their time to help teenagers develop the skills and approach to life that will launch them into independence.
