Support the New Charity Song for Our Times

Securitas UK has released a charity single to support the homeless following the success of its ‘Ascending’ charity single last year which raised over £15,000.
Keen to support anyone who might have felt overlooked previously, the new song is called ‘See A Different World’ and focuses on the importance of acceptance and understanding.
With the funds raised last year, Securitas UK helped the Kokni Muslim Association Birmingham (KMAB) provide 25,000 hot meals to those in need in Birmingham. The money also supported a hostel for the homeless, Calderwood House, by funding a minibus for a year, a ‘helpfulness’ room and staff training. This year, funds raised by the new charity song will be used to continue to support the homeless in a variety of ways.
Bringing the song to life
The song’s starting point was once again the ‘Securitas Has Got Talent’ competition which earlier this year uncovered yet more musical talent amongst colleagues.
Oliver Lincoln, Securitas UK’s ‘resident composer and pianist’ (his actual job is UK Sales Manager) was then commissioned to create a composition to showcase the skills of some of our best singers and musicians. Stepping up to the mic were Claire Leary (lead vocal), Humera Rashid (vocals), Hannah Harper (vocal and guitar) and Augustus Mends (bass).
You can listen to the fabulous result at ‘See A Different World’ here.
The song’s lyrics highlight the importance of creating a world of equality, diversity and inclusivity.
“We want to help people from all over the world, from different cultural and religious backgrounds, people with different preferences, to feel comfortable, feel welcome and feel equal,” explains Securitas UK Country President Shaun Kennedy, “As the song says, “we come from different places, but our hearts beat just the same.”
