Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2023
This week marks the 2023 Neurodiversity Celebration Week, the worldwide initiative that challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences. It aims to transform how neurodivergent individuals are perceived and supported by providing schools, universities, and organisations with the opportunity to recognise the many talents and advantages of being neurodivergent, while creating more inclusive and equitable cultures that celebrate differences and empower every individual.
My dyslexia has given me more strengths than weaknesses.
My dyslexia has given me more strengths than weaknesses. My ability to read people’s emotions and situations extremely well means nothing can get past me, and I always know when to ask someone what’s up. Since I struggle to skim read, I always give documents a very thorough read before anything is approved or sent on.
I am a people person through and through and my understanding of empathy is strong.
My creativity that has come from my experiences with dyslexia have helped to build On Verve into the unique business it is. It has given me the opportunity to think beyond the traditional norms of the guest services industry and understand the new offering we’re bringing to the industry.
I wanted to create an environment that supported neurodiversity, where people can bring their whole selves to work, and I think we’ve been successful at that.
