Listen to this article

Serco Middle East is sponsoring a university programme in collaboration with Takalam, an award-winning mental wellbeing platform operating from Abu Dhabi’s global tech ecosystem, Hub71.

The programme is designed to benefit university students and provide them with the tools and support they need to become resilient future leaders.

As part of its wider environmental, social and governance (ESG) commitments, Serco will provide more than 10,000 university students with a safe space to discuss their mental health and emotional challenges, and learn practical coping skills for unlocking their full potential.

Through the Takalam university programme, a series of webinars will be provided at several UAE-based universities. These webinars will cover topics including time management and exam pressure, fear of public speaking, self-care and self-compassion, stress and anger management, coping strategies, nutrition counseling and other subjects that aim to improve students’ well-being throughout their academic journey.

Phil Malem, Chief Executive Officer, Serco Middle East, comments: “As part of our wider nationalisation goals, we wanted to look at how we could support young people locally even before they take that first step on the ladder into their professional lives.

The university programme involving Takalam and Serco is part of a wider initiative to promote mental health and wellbeing across the UAE.
