Yanmar CE EMEA to Unveil Compact Stars at SaMoTer 2023

Listen to this article

A prototype of a new heavy weight wheel loader featuring a clever articulation joint will be a highlights of Yanmar Compact Equipment EMEA’s exhibition stand at SaMoTer in Verona, Italy in May.

Where better to preview two of the most exciting new products from Yanmar CE EMEA (Yanmar) than under the spring sunshine in Verona, Italy, this May? In Hall 9 (Stand C12-C13), the company will be showcasing an initial preview of its V7HW (Heavy weight) compact wheel loader prototype. And that’s not all: the V7HW will be joined on by a host of the company’s other stars, including the ViO23 and ViO38 mini excavators, and the B7-6 and SV100-2PB midi excavators.

V7HW prototype: Combined articulation/oscillation joint lowers transport height

Expected to be formally launched after September 2023, Yanmar’s initial V7HW prototype is based on a new platform that can support both diesel and electric power trains. The V7HW does not use rear exterior oscillation, but rather features a clever joint that enables the height of the machine to be lowered, meaning it can fit in standard containers and be transported on road more easily.

Mini-excavators

The V7HW prototype is not the only star at the show – Yanmar is bringing a selection of its surprisingly spacious mini and midi excavators to Verona. Designed for comfy yet safe working in confined environments, the ViO23-6 is easy to transport, thanks to its retractable undercarriage and low weight. While advanced hydraulics and an indirect-injection engine give it plenty of precision power when it matters.

With a swing radius of just 2,875 mm and a small turning radius, the ViO38-6, meanwhile offers exceptional compactness when compared to the competition. In addition, neither the counterweight nor the front part of the upper frame project beyond the track width. This makes it a true zero tail swing machine and enhances safety for the operator and other on-site workers alike. It also provides peace of mind when working along walls, and in urban environment where space is limited.

These mini-excavators will be joined by another highly compact excavator, the SV08-1C. It is exceptionally compact, easy to transport, and ideal for operation in confined environments. It is suited for indoor tasks such as renovation or demolition because it can easily access narrow areas and drive through almost any doorway, with the machine’s overall machine width – even with a retracted undercarriage – reduced to 680 mm.

Bossing it in the five-tonne segment will be the ViO57-6B. Its advanced engine meets all EU emission requirements, with electronic controls offering precision power as well as first-rate fuel economy. A ViPPS hydraulic system co-ordinates performance, while automatic two-speed drive motors add further automatic precision and increase ease of operation. This zero-tail machine also features an improved undercarriage, resulting in with greater safety and operator comfort.

Midi excavators

Yanmar’s 10-tonne SV100-2PB midi excavator combines heavy-duty performance with a compact size, making it the ideal choice for demanding jobs like highways, groundworks, civils projects and construction sites. The B7-6, meanwhile, is the most compact excavator in the 8-10 ton class, with transport dimensions are just 5,850 mm x 2,270 mm x 2,680 mm. It’s so compact that the operator can perform a complete 360° turn in a traffic lane just 2.7 meters wide, reducing traffic congestion.

Tracked carriers

Compact excavators and wheel loaders are joined on Yanmar’s SaMoTer stand with their compact tracked carrier cousins. The C30R-3 is both compact and versatile. It can spin-turn 360°, so it’s great in even the tightest of job sites. It is just 1.5m wide and 3.28m long. These features make the machine efficient, which in turn boosts productivity. Despite these small dimensions, the carrier offers a substantial payload of 2,500 kg.

Wheeled excavators

The B95W is a nine-ton wheeled excavator that can tackle work normally reserved for heavier machines. Its precise hydraulic system can transport and position heavy loads with precision. Ideal for moving materials, it has applications that span road construction and horticulture, where the grab bucket is especially useful for loading trucks. It comes with a range of boom options and three steering modes and, with a road speed of up to 36 km/h, it’ll zoom from one job to another.

With the latest thinking across the compact equipment landscape, there are plenty of good reasons to visit the Yanmar stand at SaMoTer this May.

Yanmar Compact Equipment

Today Yanmar is a leading global player in the industrial machinery industry. In the construction equipment sector, Yanmar was first to market with the launch of the first mini excavator in 1968 and its invention of the revolutionary zero-tail excavator in 1993. Yanmar’s Compact Equipment Business has four plants, in Japan, France, Germany and the U.S., to deliver a range of products and services to the global market.
