Commercial Cleaning Contractor Adds 600 Jobs

Cleanology has announced the creation of 600 new jobs over the past year following multiple new contract awards in London and the expansion of its services across the UK.
An acquisition by the contract cleaner in Wigan, Lancashire added a further 400 staff, bringing the total number of employees to 1,400.
CEO, Dominic Ponniah, reports revenue rose to £25 million in 2022, with the new contracts providing opportunities for staff progression and the creation of supervisory and managerial positions. He also says the company’s commitment to sustainability, fair pay and innovation.
Cleanology has consolidated its services for businesses with sites at multiple locations and invested in its staff’s professional development. The company has also moved to new offices in London’s Vauxhall Nine Elms district, which includes a brand-new training and induction centre for new starters and continuous professional development.
Despite a challenging employment market, Ponniah remains optimistic.
The new contracts have offered real opportunities for progression among our staff – we have created more supervisor and managerial jobs, and almost exclusively used in-house teams to fill these roles.
He says: “The figures speak for themselves. The new contracts have offered real opportunities for progression among our staff – we have created more supervisor and managerial jobs, and almost exclusively used in-house teams to fill these roles.
“Added to that, over 90 per cent of all our staff are now paid the Real Living Wage or higher.
“Our journey began in Vauxhall 20 years ago, so returning to the area feels like a seminal moment. From our new office, I can see across the park to our old offices and it makes me realise just how far we have come as a business, almost a reflection of Vauxhall itself. Maturing, but still learning and developing every day.”
